In-person tickets to Opening Night Live itself are already sold out, so the official recommendation from organizers is to follow the broadcast online rather than try to attend in person.
Opening Night Live Is the Part That Matters Most Remotely
Unless you're actually flying to Cologne, Opening Night Live is the piece worth clearing your evening for — it's free, streamed on YouTube, Twitch, and Steam, and has effectively become the industry's replacement for E3's old press-conference format since that event faded out. Worth noting for context: Rockstar's own Grand Theft Auto VI extended showcase is scheduled separately, premiering on Netflix August 27 — right in the middle of Gamescom week, though not part of the official Opening Night Live broadcast itself. It's one of several major reveals landing in the same window, which is part of why this particular Gamescom week is unusually stacked even by the show's normal standards.
